How Our Roofer Referrals Work in Colorado Springs, CO

Roof Replacement Colorado Springs CO matches homeowners in Colorado Springs, CO and nearby towns with roofers; it does not roof anything itself. You tell us about your roof, and we put you in touch with an independent local roofer for a free inspection and a written estimate. Here is each step, who pays whom, and where our role stops.

The Short Version

We are not roofers. Your request goes to a single independent local roofer, who may pay this site a fee for the introduction. You pay us nothing, and you owe the roofer nothing unless you choose to sign a contract with them. If the estimate doesn't suit you, you can walk away or get other bids.

The Steps, in Order

  1. You call (719) 555-0168 or send the estimate form with your address, roof type and what you have spotted.
  2. We send the request to a single independent local roofer working in your area.
  3. The roofer contacts you to book a free inspection at a time that works for you.
  4. After the visit, you get a written, itemized estimate covering materials, tear-off and labor.
  5. You decide. If you hire the roofer, Colorado law requires a written contract that you both sign before any work begins.

What to Ask the Roofer

Colorado has no state roofer license. In Colorado Springs and the rest of its service area, the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD) licenses roofing contractors and issues re-roof permits. We do not check licenses for you, so run through this list yourself before you sign.

  • An active PPRBD license. Ask for it, then search the roofer on pprbd.org. Roofing falls under the Building Contractor D-1 Roofing or D-1 Exterior classes.
  • A permit pulled before work starts. Roof jobs larger than 100 sq ft require one. PPRBD issues permits only to roofers with an active license.
  • Liability insurance that covers re-roofing. Read the certificate to confirm it does not leave out re-roofing work.
  • A local address. A physical office you could drive to, not just a cell number.
  • A written contract. It should spell out the scope, materials, cost, rough dates, contact details and insurer, and state that the roofer keeps your money in trust until the materials are delivered or the bulk of the job is finished.
  • References and warranty terms. Ask for recent local jobs and get the manufacturer warranty details in writing.

Honest Boundaries

A referral service only works if you know exactly what it does not do. These limits never change.

  • No roofing work. We don't inspect, install or repair roofs, and we sign no contracts with homeowners.
  • No claim handling. A roofer can document and price damage. The claim itself is between you and your insurance company. Colorado law (C.R.S. 6-22-105) also bars a roofer from acting as your public adjuster; only a licensed public adjuster can represent you.
  • No deductible deals or gifts. Colorado law bars roofers from paying, waiving or rebating your deductible, and we never give homeowners anything of value.
  • No pressure on timing. Colorado gives you 72 hours after signing a roofing contract to back out, plus a second 72-hour window once your insurer denies the claim in writing, in whole or in part. Details are on the Colorado roofing rules page.
